Dr Riaan Wolfaardt received his degree in dentistry from the University of Pretoria in 1994 and a diploma in dental Implantology from the University of Stellenbosch in 2002. He received his second diploma in dental implantology in 2011 from the Implant Aesthetic Academy which is accredited with Frankfurt University. Dr Wolfaardt is both surgically and restoratively involved with dental implants in his daily practice. He has lectured both nationally and internationally on dental implantology.
He currently forms part of the Implant and Aesthetic Academy’s lecture team, where he lectures on implant related prosthodontics in the basic and intermediate implant courses that the academy runs. He formed part of the Nobel Biocare world tour conference in 2006 at Sun City where he presented a focus group session on the topic “How to start out with Implants”.
He formed part of the Nobel Active world-wide pre-launch program. He served on the executive committee of the South-African Society of Dental Implantology (SASDI) for 4 years, as the general practitioner’s representative on the board. He is a member of the Prosthodontic, Endodontic, and Aesthetic Societies of South-Africa. He is also the Gauteng representative of the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (SAAAD). He has been in private dental practice in Johannesburg for the past 25 years.
