Dr. Andrew Ellis BChD (Stell)
Dr. Andrew Ellis graduated from The University Of Stellenbosch with his BChD Degree in 1998 receiving The Colgate Prize for Maxillo-Facial Surgery. He then moved to London, UK where he started Fulham Dental Care, a successful private practice in the Chelsea area encompassing all aspects of general dentistry with a special focus on cosmetic dentistry, implantology as well as orthodontic treatment. While living in the UK, Dr Ellis was able to attend several international post-graduate courses and congresses thus gaining considerable knowledge and experience in all fields of clinical dentistry.
After eight years in London, the pull towards Cape Town became too great and so he returned, joining Patheodent in 2007, becoming a partner in 2009. Since returning he has attended the Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Implantology Post Graduate Hands-On Courses presented by The Implant And Aesthetic Academy refining his clinical skills in this area. Dr Ellis has a special interest in aesthetic dentistry; with more than ten years of experience in CAD-CAM computerized dentistry using the CEREC unit to create both functional and aesthetic smiles. He remains on the cutting edge of all the latest technological advancements in dentistry by attending as many postgraduate courses as possible. He has recently been elected as vice-president of the Western Cape Executive Committee of the South African Association of Osseointegration (SAAO) as well as to the Executive Committee of the South African Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry (SAAAD). He is a member of IAA(Implant and Aesthetic Academy), South African Academy of Computerised Dentistry (SAACD), SADA (South African Dental Association) and is registered with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa). Dr Ellis is married to Yvonne and has children Simon and Adrienne. He enjoys trail running, surf-skiing and mountain biking.
